The Blood Keeper

The Blood Keeper by Tessa Gratton

The stand alone companion to Blood Magic, which we all know I loved enough to want to fight people about, The Blood Keeper did not disappoint, and if anything I think I love it even more than I did Blood Magic, who knew that was even possible?

Red Queen

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

First things first, can we appreciate this cover? Oh man, it's so gorgeous and I'd be a total liar if I said that this cover wasn't part of the reason I decided that I needed it. That being said, I finally got time to read it and yup, glad I did.
Warning, this may very well be the laziest book review I've ever done. No fault to the book, I'm just hella lazy today.

All The Bright Places

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

I have to be completely honest that I had no idea what I was getting into when I decided to buy this book. I didn't read the blurb before I bought it, or before I started reading. Only that the cover looked happy and cheerful and so very different from the books I'm used to. "I love books, " I thought to myself as I put this one in my cart. "Even if I don't read it, it's so pretty and will look nice on my shelf."
Well, when I pick a book to read, unless it's for a review request, I let the book pick me and this one stood out and a part of me whispered, "Why not?"

The Darkest Part of the Forest

The Darkest part of the Forest by Holly Black

Holly Black is a legend.
I don't need to know what the book is about, if it's written by Holly Black you can automatically know that it's going to be amazing.

I still do review books, believe it or not.

I bet you're wondering why I haven't updated in so long, especially if you're part of the large group of people who viewed my blog all of the sudden earlier this evening.

The answer is simple. Or at least that is what I would like to say, but in reality that is an outright lie.

I have been so incredibly busy on one hand and trying to juggle my hobbies on the other, that I threw myself head first into a reading slump.

No matter how hard I try I can't focus on any book I sit down to read. I can't review a book I can't read, and it's not fair to blame the authors for my frazzled and fried brain being unable to focus on any of their glorious words.

So there it is, Chainsaw is stuck.
I've been working on my own writing instead of reading, but as all readers and writers know, reading is like a vitamin to good writing, so even writing has been going slow.
I won't even mention the junk that has been going on in off the internet land because it's just as if not more frustrating than a reading slump.

Bear with me a while longer. I swear I have some book reviews coming!

Happy Reading!
XOXOXO

Sweet Unrest

Sweet Unrest by Lisa Maxwell

I knew I wanted to read this book from the moment I heard about it on Twitter, so much that I'd ordered the book shortly after it's release (only because I missed the pre-order) at the same time I pre-ordered Snow Like Ashes. However due to ARC's that I had to finish reading and my busy End of the Year schedule... I only got to read it just now. Oh, god if I'd known what was lurking on my shelf all this time I'd have picked it up sooner.
